Haul post :)

Hey :)!

This time I didn't want to let too much time pass until my next post; so, even though I haven't got any outfits to show you guys, I thought I might share some new purchases before the next Harajuku Fashion Walk :D

First of all, I want to show you the items I'm going to wear there. Among which, my lovely Marie Antoinette Portraits jsk by Krad Lanrete, which I've been waiting for for like six months and which finally arrived at my house!

It's so, so beautiful, you should see how it fits, I *love* it! For some reason all the pics in this post came out pretty yellowish, but it's actually pastel blue.
Together with the dress came these two super cute rings:

And I'm going to wear it with these other two recent purchases I bought from a friend.
The first one is a cardi by H. Naoto. It fits so perfectly I couldn't believe how lucky I was, getting it secondhand at a ridiculous price and looking so good in it XD (if I get to say this myself XD)

And then there's this pretty wig, which I bought from the same friend. It's perfect because it's also so Jessica Day, so I can wear it even outside lolita. But it's perfect for lolita either because it has full bangs and locks :D

These are all items I'm going to wear at the next HFW in Venice <3 but I don't want to completely spoil my outfit for you guys XD so, onto the proper haul :D

Yesterday morning my mother and I went downtown to "buy some face cream and hand cream" for me, since I've always refused to put on any on my skin and well, you can see the results, my skin kind of sucks. Especially since I live in Milan and the amount of smog, humidity and dirt I receive on a daily basis has significantly increased. So I thought I might start using some protection.
Somehow, we ended up buying me these two super expensive creams:

A Chanel fragrance and a Lancome make-up remover for my mom, and then two more super-expensive products for me: eye-liner and mascara.

Then we got out of that perfume shop, and headed straight to Terranova, where I found a really nice denim jacket. Who doesn't own a denim jacket, now that the 90s are so aggressively back? I want to buy *so* many a-line colourful dresses to match it with!

And my mother bought herself a pair of leggings and a t-shirt.
We got out of that shop too and I saw it.
It.
THE bag.
The bag I've been waiting for my whole life.

I just. I can't. I don't. I've LOST MY ABILITY TO CAN.
I'd actually already eyed an almost identical bag, by the same TwinSet line, but I didn't really like the background colour (I was looking for white, beige or cream, and that one was kind of rose), and I was so sad because it had the perfect shade and the perfect combination of classy and romantic.
And then I found out there were other colours and, well. I love dots to death.
I literally saw it on a window, pointed it out and screamed:
"That one! Mum! THAT BAG is the one! It's the bag I've been looking for all this time!"

You know, there's this thing about me that if something does not COMPLETELY convince me in every single little detail, I'm not going to buy it. It might be something apparently meaningless, and my mom's always like "come on, you look good, what's wrong with that poor jacket" but it's pointless to even try. I'm not going to buy it.
BUT. When I see something that really, REALLY convinces me, there's no way to stop me from having it. You can see it right away because my eyes widen, my mouth opens and my voice trembles.
I don't waste my money on stuff I don't completely like, but I'm more than ready to spend any amount of money on the stuff I really do like.

Also, since my mother was in a good mood, she decided to also buy me the matching wallet.

I have to say I actually needed a bag and a wallet; the one I bring to university is shredded and my wallet is so little I'm surprised it hasn't exploded yet - it was about time I bought something that wasn't falling into pieces, for the weekends and stuff.

Then, on the way home, we saw a very cute shop with the loveliest dress on its window. My mother suggested we got in and I tried that dress on; she found a pair of pants and a t-shirt, and I found one of the most beautiful dresses I've ever had <3

I've never had such an elegant dress. I'll only be able to wear it in the summer since it has a cross back, but a friend of mine reassured me by telling me she's going to graduate in July, so I'm going to have the perfect occasion (actually there's my birthday too, but there I'm going to wear something more edgy :D).

By the way, this beauty's causing me a lot of pain! I've been meaning to wear it at my travel to Strasbourg in a few weeks but then I reminded why I've never worn anything blue: it's impossible to match!
What colours go with that shade of blue ;_;? I thought white, dark red and maybe mustard, but I'm not sure. I'd like to wear it with a cardigan, tights and heels, but I really don't know how to match colours and besides I don't own anything in the shades aforementioned. Can you help me? I really, REALLY need advice, so maybe I can buy something before I leave!

And since all that wasn't enough XD on the afternoon I went downtown again and bought more stuff: a black eyeshadow by Urban Decay, a lipstick and a make-up remover by Sephora.

And finally a few accessories I bought a couple weeks ago: super colourful bracelet (right from the Nineties!) and very classic black earrings, to wear with stuff that is black but not goth XD.

As you can see, it's not like I'm standing there idle hands when I'm not posting XD!

A haul (yes, another one), an award and a real life update

Heeey :D! I'm back!

I wasn't gone for long actually, and it hasn't passed more time than usual since my last entry, but what you don't know is that I've been quite far from home in the last days, and that's why I'm feeling like I'm "back".

I didn't tell you guys something quite important, but I didn't know how to introduce the topic 'cause it'd have looked like I was making a big deal out of it and, see? I feel like I'm doing that even now ''xD

Long story short: I've been admitted to the university I've always wanted to get in. I passed a killer test and later moved to Milan last monday :D

I'm not going to bore you with the snags I encountered; not many actually, but still, for a girl who comes from the country, a big city's something new and different and hard to deal with sometimes; all this despite me being one of those people who've always had the dream of moving to a big city, so I wasn't unprepared, and by the way I know Milan quite well. Anyways. Let's focus on the good stuff!

The good fashion-related stuff is that, hello?, SHOPPING IN MILAN? I mean, Becky Bloomswood would have killed to switch places with me. (And I'd kill to switch places with her, since she lives in fucking New York city; but I'll settle for Milan right now. It's quite the improvement after living in the province of Venice for 25 years.) The shops, guys. So many. So beautiful. So much stuff.

I've noticed that collections arrive a lot earlier, and there's a lot more clothes, compared to where I used to live. That's great on one hand, but very, VERY dangerous on the other hand - for my wallet.

This is what I came home with when I *accidentally* went to via Torino 'cause my afternoon with a friend blew up and I was left with a free hour.

Lol this sweater is A LOT longer on me X°D it like covers half my tights XD by the way I really needed a sweater, I only have one and a few wool cardigans, so I'm not feeling guilty about this one.

Well; I actually spotted it only because I was thinking "well, ok, but I can't wear these leggings with skirts anymore, it's too cold... I'd need some long sweater or something... oh! There is one right there <3!", so I picked it, tried it on and bought it. Only later I realized I needed it more than I needed the leggings.

And these are the leggings. They're glorious and flawless and this pic is shitty, but you're going to see them very soon on some outfit posts, and then you're going to be overwhelmed by their beauty.

This is actually the first thing I put my eyes on... a necklace made with baby pink hearts which each say a letter of the word "bitch" <3 it sums my personality up perfectly, 'cause I love pretty pink stuff, but I'm also what people usually call a bitch; it describes me better than any word could ever do.

And the bracelets <3!
I actually hadn't planned o buy them, but since the necklace was promotion and I could take two items from that shelf and only pay for the most pricey, I picked these bracelets, which came for free.
Since lately I've been growing fond of bronze and golden jewelry, I was very lucky. :D

And that's it, FOR THE MOMENT. I know it's not going to end here. But it'll have to since I've ordered at least three new figures and I need to pay for them, so this must be my last haul for a month at least (of course, I'm talking about clothing. Today I'm going to buy that super cute bracelet I saw last week but that doesn't count because it's jewelry, you know).

I haven't actually received an award, but the owner of this blog said anyone could answer the questions, so I did it here.

1-Preferisci avere tutto subito o aspettare pazientemente fino a quando sarà il momento giusto per ottenere quello che desideri? Do you rather get everything immediately or patiently wait until the right moment to get what you want?

I have no patience, the mere thought of having to wait to get what I want makes me hysterical and often leads me to giving up :D. That must be the reason why I'm on a good path to becoming a shopaholic XD shopping only requires you to pay in order to get what you want the minute you want it XD.

2-Qual è il colore di smalto che preferisci in assoluto? What is your absolute favourite nail polish colour?

Well, being a lover of dark clothing, I almost never wear colours. The only colour I very seldom wear is a sort of very dark red.

3-Dove ti vedi tra 20 anni? Where do you see yourself 20 years from now?

Hm, that should be more precise: does she mean "what will you most likely become" or "where would you like to be in 20 years from now"? The second question is easy: I'd like to be a translator and an editor in a publishing house. I'd like to have married my boyfriend and to live with him; we'd be childfree and we'd live in a nice flat in London or Milan or New York, which'll be full of books, figures, comics, and mangas. I'd like my house to have a gothic decor and two pinschers or chihuahuas running around it. As for the first one, I'll probably still be at home with my parents yelling at me, jobless and desperate :D

4-Puoi dire di essere davvero felice in quello che fai ogni giorno? Would you say you're really happy about what you do in your everyday life?

I've only started courses last monday but I'm quite satisfied with them. By the way I should wait at least a couple months to be able to say whether I like what I'm doing now.

5-Preferisci indossare tartan, pois o tinte unite? O nessuno dei tre? Which one do you prefer to wear: tartan, dots or plain colours? Or neither?

Hm. When I was very young, I would definitely have said tartan. Some years ago, during my rockabilly phase, I'd have totally gone for dots. Right now I'm all for total black, so I guess it's the third one.
6-Come ti vedi tra 20 anni (fisicamente intendo)? How do you see yourself 20 years from now (I mean phisically)?

Ugh. I guess fatter, flabbier and wrinkly. Considering how I eat and how little exercise I do, that's the most likely forecast.

7-Indossi i tacchi? Do you wear heels?

Yes I do. A lot. In the weekends only, though.

8-Sei felice ora, in questo preciso istante? Are you happy now, in this very moment?

Well, I'm very careful with using the word "happy", 'cause to me "happy" means a temporary and very excited state of mind that isn't meant to last for long: "happy" is when you receive very good news and you start screaming with joy, and then it ends when you get accustomed to what happened. So, although I'd say I'm fine right now, I wouldn't use the word "happy" :D that's for occasions only.

9-Qual è il tuo cibo preferito? Which is your favourite food?

I really can't choose. These are the main ones:

1. Pumpkin risotto OMG so creamy and tasty, I'm actually drooling right now.

2. Pasticcio al ragù

I really don't have time to see how english speakers call that, I'm sorry XD I don't even know whether they eat this or not. It's lasagnas with meat sauce and béchamel by the way.

The worst thing is, I can't even eat it because I'm intolerant to dairy products.

3. Meringata

It looks like I only like stuff that doesn't have an equivalent in english. Well, it's actually just a cake that's made with ice cream and merengue, and decorated with whipped cream. It comes in many tastes: chocolate, coffee or fruity... my favourite one's with strawberries (and strawberry ice cream inside).

10-Qual è la cosa che ti piace fare e che ti rende più appagata, quella nella quale senti di riuscire davvero bene? Which is that one thing you like doing the most, the one that makes you fulfilled, the one you're really good at?

It used to be writing, but I'd never thought I was particularly skilled; right now I have nothing like that in my life, but there are many things I like to do, even though they're not *that* particular thing that's always been *my* thing.

11-Quella cosa (riferita alla domanda numero 10) occupa la maggior parte della tua giornata? 

Does that thing (in question 10) occupy most of your day?

No, not anymore as I said, but I occupy my days otherwise with activities I like doing; by the way I finally managed to go to a university where they really teach me what I want to learn, so even though translation isn't that one thing I like doing the most, it's still one of my favourite things to do and I'm going to do it five days a week for the next two years, so, my final answers is "sort of".

Another haul :D!

Hey :D

It hasn't been a long time since my last haul, I know, but in my defense there's to say that my hauls are always pretty moderate.
*sighs* And to think I was saving money for a laptop... and the few money I had left for other stuff, I had to spend it in Loverdose Tattoo. But then I bumped into Tally Weijl while I was at the mall and... it happened.
I'd gone to the mall because I had to buy clothes for the pranks me and my friends made for my cousin's graduation (she got her master degree in philology), and well, I got them, but I also came home with three new items for me.
Two of them were needed: I really, really need basic clothing, so no one can say these two things are not going to be useful when I'll be in uni.

I can't say the same about this beauty, though.

This one I really didn't need, but for God's sake LOOK AT THAT PRINT. I just can't resist flock prints.
I have absolutely no idea when and where I'm going to wear it: it requires no bra and no undershirt, since it is partially transparent on the front and completely transparent on the back; summer has just ended, it's a little too cold now.
But look at it. Just look at it. It's beautiful. And I love what it does to my waistline - shops definitely need more A-line clothes.

And, as if this wasn't enough... a friend of mine was selling a classic lolita jsk since she had bought two identical dresses by mistake. I had seen it on her at the Harajuku Fashion Walk that took place in Venice some months ago and I had loved it (click here to see it: she's the one on the right), so when I noticed she was selling it I immediately reserved it XD.

*sighs* This is exactly the kind of classic/country floral dress I was looking for. It's perfect.
Now all I have to do is figure out what I'm going to match it with, since I don't have shoes, or tights, or blouses, or a petticoat, or ANYTHING that can go with pastels. But since I'm growing fonder and fonder of this style, I guess I'll just have to buy something, like a white blouse and white tights.
My problem is with shoes.
I don't like typical lolita shoes like these:

They're cute, but they're not for me. I don't want to look like a chid - actually, I only use mary janes and poofy petticoats when I'm all dressed in black, which kind of compensates, doesn't it?
I prefer this kind of shoes, with a narrower heel:

Except, of course, these ones don't come in colours that might match my clothes.
I don't have a clue what to do with that dress XD. I don't want a frilly look, so I want to avoid this kind of stuff:

But then I keep wondering: hey, is there too much white in my outfit? Does brown look good with my jsk? Would my legs look fat with pastel colours? And so on.
I guess it'll take time for me to learn how to create a good classic lolita coordinate :D I've spent too much time in my total black comfort zone and now I have to learn to match stuff again XD

Outfits + Haul!

Here are some of my latest outfits :D!

I wore them in different nights at the same place XD

I love how creepers gothify even the laziest outfit, like this one above... XD the right shoes and accessories make wonders for a boring outfit XD



And then there's my haul.
Yesterday I went to a wholesale shop with my cousin and a friend of mine. This shop is part of a larger shopping complex - entirely run by chinese people - which is not far from where I live. There you can find stuff at a very low price, but you need to have a VAT number, otherwise they won't even let you come in and take a look.
Eventually I asked one of my cousins (not the one I took with me to the shop; another one XD) whether she could lend me hers and she said yes, so I took my cousin and a lolita friend and went there.
There was some nice things and some kind of lame ones, too. I bought a wig and some accessories; my cousin bought some piercings for her boyfriend, a bracelet for herself and one for her sister. My friend took some quite lovely donut-shaped pendants in order to create a bracelet, some flower shaped hairpins, rose-shaped earrings and some stickers for her nails.
I was surprised to see that there were many lolitable items, such as a vast choice of fascinator mini-hats. Me and my friend found quite a lot of stuff; my cousin didn't find much that could fit her style. I also bought a very nice bracelet for my cousin who had lent me her VAT number, and in the end I regretted not buying one for myself 'cause it was so pretty.

This is what I came home with:

A wig, a necklace + bracelet set, two nail stickers sets and another bracelet.

Total spent: €25. If I'd gone to a regular shop, I'd have spent that money solely on the wig.

This wig <3 I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. There were many styles and many colours, but red is always in my heart.

The quality of this wig is extremely good. The hair is not poofy, it has a very simple style and a natural colour: it really just seems dyed hair. You can even see the red highlits better under the daylight, just as in real hair. I'm really glad I bought it; I can't wait to sport it with a lolita outfit! (And to show it to you worn xD)

These are AWESOME. They only came at €2 each. Have you got any idea how much I should have paid for them in a regular shop...? At least €7. At least. And I've never seen such beautiful gothic nail stickers before *_*

For some reason, I couldn't take a good picture of this bracelet. xD I'll take a good one when I'll wear it for the first time.

And this is the set. I spotted the bracelet first and then I saw the necklace and they seemed to match, so I bought them both.

These are not meant to complement my gothic looks; these must go with finer clothing. I don't know, like an evening dress; these should add a rockish touch to an otherwise elegant look. Or at least this is how I'd use them; if you have any suggestion on what I should pair them with, I'd be glad to hear it :D!

Hi everyone :)
Yesterday I took an afternoon off the study to go to the mall and buy some of the make-up related stuff I've recently discovered I need if I want to get a good look.
Unfortunately (for my wallet, but not for my wardrobe) my boyfriend suggested we could have a walk downtown, and I said yes, thinking "oh, I already have everything I need on my wishlist, plus I've already checked Zara and H&M and there was nothing worth spending money on, so I'm safe".
Well, I came home with no money in my wallet. The last shirt, I had to buy it with my credit card :'D.

(But, see? A book...! Buying books is a totally guilt-free shopping!)

This time I went for everyday clothes. Which I needed. For real! XD

As I said some posts ago, I tend to buy super fancy stuff that I can only wear when the weather's hot, and trust me, there aren't enough weekends in a summer to wear all the frilly lacy dresses I can buy in a year time. I even begged my boyfriend to stop me from buying that kind of stuff, but he won't do it, I know that, because it sort of amuses him the way I just lose it when I come face to face with a black lace thing.

By the way, in chronological order: the make-up.

From left to right, clockwise:

1. Kiko Brush Eyes 202 (I usually don't mention the names of the brands of the stuff I show here, but, well, you can see it, there's no point in hiding it). I needed a brush for eyeshadow. I already have an excellent blender (not by Kiko), which I paid good money for, but the brush I used to put on the eyeshadow was quite lame and half destroyed. So I thought that maybe if I bought a new one my make-ups will look just like the ones in youtube tutorials :°D

2. Kiko Precision Eye Pencil (white). The idea was using it on the eye outline to make them look bigger.

3. Kiko Colour Sphere (pearl white). Apparently some shimmery white in the internal area of my eye opens them up. Also it looks good with my eyes colour, which is some sort of grey; they're affected by internal heterochromia, so it's not easy to find a good match for their shade(s).

4. Make up forever Eyeshadow (red). To be precise, I bought it last tuesday, at Sephora. I've been looking for a red eyeshadow for a year at least. I wanted to achieve this look:

Yes, I'm a bit on a loop with this Taylor Momsen thing, just be patient, it'll pass :°D.

5. Kiko False Eyelashes 01 Natural. My first false eyelashes! It was about time. For some reason, every time I mentioned that I wanted to buy a pair, my boyfriend went all "oh no, why would you put those things on your eyes, your lashes are just fine, see?, they're beautiful!". He's so sweet, but honestly I don't get why he would be so concerned about it. It's not like I would wear them every day :°D (it'd be quite an expense...!).

Unluckily, they'd run out of the eyeshadow primer I was looking for. Which was probably the thing I needed the most. They said it's going to come back, though.

Let's skip the part where I see some stunning burgundy red platform heels at Tally Weil and the shop assistant tells me they're coming back next week, and --- no wait, you have to see them.

I mean. I can't even.

Their colour is actually darker, way darker than that. The pin-up that's in me screamed with joy. (Always on the inside.) I've wanted shoes like these for years.

I had found them at Gucci but, you know. Tiny wee bit expensive. I later found something like that at another store, on sale, for 50€, but still expensive, at least for some shoes that I'd wear very seldom and that, most of all, I wasn't able to walk on.

These ones are 35€, that's fair enough. I swear that if I manage to take five steps on a row on these things, they will be mine.

But let's see the things that are already mine. Clothes <3!

I saw this one above in a shop I really like but I don't buy stuff from very often. But when I saw this one, omg, it was love.

Last time I'd spotted a cutie in that shop I waited a week to come back and ask about it, and they had run out of it. So this time I went inside, just to make sure, and I found out it was the last one and, surprisingly (I'm never this lucky) it was exactly my size. It wasn't even expensive. Instant buy.

Aww, this one <3 you can't see it very well. It's made of some very cheap lace XD and the skull is all, like, scratched (omg, I wouldn't know how to describe it my own language, let alone english XD)

I'll post an outfit picture featuring this shirt, by the way. It really is lovely.

A bow belt <3!

I can't believe how much time it took me to find one. No, seriously, they seem to be everywhere but where the hell do they sell them?

And in fact this is not exactly how I would have wanted it; it's made of cotton instead of, i.e., satin or lace. But considering the price I got it for, it was definitely a lucky find: when I noticed it was on sale and only cost 1,99€ (don't you hate it when they do this? I mean, you don't need to make it look cheaper, I mean, it costs 2€, how much less can you reasonably spend for a belt?!), my eyes were glowing.

There were only XS/S sizes left, and I'm an S/M, but since I'm planning to wear it on the waist an not on the hips, it fits perfectly.

You can't see it very well (damn camera!), but I'll take a picture of it too. I already know which frilly dress I can match it with <3.

And, last but not least, the book!

The luckiest find of yesterday's haul.

Seriously: the Mammut series is usually quite expensive, each book's around 20-25€. But they've lowered the price, and this one was just 9€; plus this month its publishing house had put a 25% discount on its books, so I only paid *checks the receipt* 7,43€.

I mean: the whole work of Francis Scott Fitzgerald, for only 7, 43€. That's crazy. I nearly cried XD!

The thing is, I haven't been able to read anything since I first spoke with my supervisor, who gave me so many books to read for my dissertation that even if I'm not reading them I'd feel guilty reading anything else. So, despite being actually quite the reader (and my aNobii bookshelf can prove it...!), these last months I've been very ashamed of myself.

I physically *suffer* every time someone takes me to a bookshop, because all those books and I can't even look at them because I know, I know I'd end up buying them. (And this post is the non-living proof that I don't have control over my actions when I see a book I'm interested in). Also, when I try to look away I look like one of those people who get into libraries because they're forced by the people they're with, so they don't even take a look on the stuff they're surrounded by because they're so grossed out by literature they won't even give it a try.

Anyway: I've meant to read something by Fitzgerald for a long time, and I'm glad I found it at a price so low because I would have spent more money even if I bought just one of his novels. I've been curios since I read Zelda's Save Me the Waltz, plus I don't want to turn 25 without having read The Great Gatsby.

That's not it, to be honest, I have some stuff traveling from all over the world to come to me, but I'll show that to you once I actually put my hands on it.
