A haul (yes, another one), an award and a real life update

Heeey :D! I'm back!
I wasn't gone for long actually, and it hasn't passed more time than usual since my last entry, but what you don't know is that I've been quite far from home in the last days, and that's why I'm feeling like I'm "back".
I didn't tell you guys something quite important, but I didn't know how to introduce the topic 'cause it'd have looked like I was making a big deal out of it and, see? I feel like I'm doing that even now ''xD
Long story short: I've been admitted to the university I've always wanted to get in. I passed a killer test and later moved to Milan last monday :D
I'm not going to bore you with the snags I encountered; not many actually, but still, for a girl who comes from the country, a big city's something new and different and hard to deal with sometimes; all this despite me being one of those people who've always had the dream of moving to a big city, so I wasn't unprepared, and by the way I know Milan quite well. Anyways. Let's focus on the good stuff!
The good fashion-related stuff is that, hello?, SHOPPING IN MILAN? I mean, Becky Bloomswood would have killed to switch places with me. (And I'd kill to switch places with her, since she lives in fucking New York city; but I'll settle for Milan right now. It's quite the improvement after living in the province of Venice for 25 years.) The shops, guys. So many. So beautiful. So much stuff.
I've noticed that collections arrive a lot earlier, and there's a lot more clothes, compared to where I used to live. That's great on one hand, but very, VERY dangerous on the other hand - for my wallet.
This is what I came home with when I *accidentally* went to via Torino 'cause my afternoon with a friend blew up and I was left with a free hour.
Lol this sweater is A LOT longer on me X°D it like covers half my tights XD by the way I really needed a sweater, I only have one and a few wool cardigans, so I'm not feeling guilty about this one.
Well; I actually spotted it only because I was thinking "well, ok, but I can't wear these leggings with skirts anymore, it's too cold... I'd need some long sweater or something... oh! There is one right there <3!", so I picked it, tried it on and bought it. Only later I realized I needed it more than I needed the leggings.

And these are the leggings. They're glorious and flawless and this pic is shitty, but you're going to see them very soon on some outfit posts, and then you're going to be overwhelmed by their beauty.

This is actually the first thing I put my eyes on... a necklace made with baby pink hearts which each say a letter of the word "bitch" <3 it sums my personality up perfectly, 'cause I love pretty pink stuff, but I'm also what people usually call a bitch; it describes me better than any word could ever do.

And the bracelets <3!
I actually hadn't planned o buy them, but since the necklace was promotion and I could take two items from that shelf and only pay for the most pricey, I picked these bracelets, which came for free.
Since lately I've been growing fond of bronze and golden jewelry, I was very lucky. :D

And that's it, FOR THE MOMENT. I know it's not going to end here. But it'll have to since I've ordered at least three new figures and I need to pay for them, so this must be my last haul for a month at least (of course, I'm talking about clothing. Today I'm going to buy that super cute bracelet I saw last week but that doesn't count because it's jewelry, you know).

Err, onto the questions ''<3
I haven't actually received an award, but the owner of this blog said anyone could answer the questions, so I did it here.

1-Preferisci avere tutto subito o aspettare pazientemente fino a quando sarà il momento giusto per ottenere quello che desideri? Do you rather get everything immediately or patiently wait until the right moment to get what you want?

I have no patience, the mere thought of having to wait to get what I want makes me hysterical and often leads me to giving up :D. That must be the reason why I'm on a good path to becoming a shopaholic XD shopping only requires you to pay in order to get what you want the minute you want it XD.

2-Qual è il colore di smalto che preferisci in assoluto? What is your absolute favourite nail polish colour?

Well, being a lover of dark clothing, I almost never wear colours. The only colour I very seldom wear is a sort of very dark red.

3-Dove ti vedi tra 20 anni? Where do you see yourself 20 years from now?

Hm, that should be more precise: does she mean "what will you most likely become" or "where would you like to be in 20 years from now"? The second question is easy: I'd like to be a translator and an editor in a publishing house. I'd like to have married my boyfriend and to live with him; we'd be childfree and we'd live in a nice flat in London or Milan or New York, which'll be full of books, figures, comics, and mangas. I'd like my house to have a gothic decor and two pinschers or chihuahuas running around it. As for the first one, I'll probably still be at home with my parents yelling at me, jobless and desperate :D

4-Puoi dire di essere davvero felice in quello che fai ogni giorno? Would you say you're really happy about what you do in your everyday life?

I've only started courses last monday but I'm quite satisfied with them. By the way I should wait at least a couple months to be able to say whether I like what I'm doing now.

5-Preferisci indossare tartan, pois o tinte unite? O nessuno dei tre? Which one do you prefer to wear: tartan, dots or plain colours? Or neither?

Hm. When I was very young, I would definitely have said tartan. Some years ago, during my rockabilly phase, I'd have totally gone for dots. Right now I'm all for total black, so I guess it's the third one.
6-Come ti vedi tra 20 anni (fisicamente intendo)? How do you see yourself 20 years from now (I mean phisically)?

Ugh. I guess fatter, flabbier and wrinkly. Considering how I eat and how little exercise I do, that's the most likely forecast.

7-Indossi i tacchi? Do you wear heels?

Yes I do. A lot. In the weekends only, though.

8-Sei felice ora, in questo preciso istante? Are you happy now, in this very moment?

Well, I'm very careful with using the word "happy", 'cause to me "happy" means a temporary and very excited state of mind that isn't meant to last for long: "happy" is when you receive very good news and you start screaming with joy, and then it ends when you get accustomed to what happened. So, although I'd say I'm fine right now, I wouldn't use the word "happy" :D that's for occasions only.

9-Qual è il tuo cibo preferito? Which is your favourite food?

I really can't choose. These are the main ones:

1. Pumpkin risotto OMG so creamy and tasty, I'm actually drooling right now.

2. Pasticcio al ragù
I really don't have time to see how english speakers call that, I'm sorry XD I don't even know whether they eat this or not. It's lasagnas with meat sauce and béchamel by the way.
The worst thing is, I can't even eat it because I'm intolerant to dairy products.

3. Meringata
It looks like I only like stuff that doesn't have an equivalent in english. Well, it's actually just a cake that's made with ice cream and merengue, and decorated with whipped cream. It comes in many tastes: chocolate, coffee or fruity... my favourite one's with strawberries (and strawberry ice cream inside).

10-Qual è la cosa che ti piace fare e che ti rende più appagata, quella nella quale senti di riuscire davvero bene? Which is that one thing you like doing the most, the one that makes you fulfilled, the one you're really good at?

It used to be writing, but I'd never thought I was particularly skilled; right now I have nothing like that in my life, but there are many things I like to do, even though they're not *that* particular thing that's always been *my* thing.

11-Quella cosa (riferita alla domanda numero 10) occupa la maggior parte della tua giornata?

Does that thing (in question 10) occupy most of your day?

No, not anymore as I said, but I occupy my days otherwise with activities I like doing; by the way I finally managed to go to a university where they really teach me what I want to learn, so even though translation isn't that one thing I like doing the most, it's still one of my favourite things to do and I'm going to do it five days a week for the next two years, so, my final answers is "sort of".

I'm not tagging anyone, I just did this thing because the questions looked fun to answer, but feel free to answer the same questions in your blog, or even in my comments if you want :D!
Have a nice weekend :*!

Very Inspiring Blogger Award

Many thanks to Lesthi for tagging me! I'm so proud to be somehow inspiring to someone ;A; and to think that most of the times I can't even inspire myself ''XD

Five odd facts about me

1. I'm a tea junkie. I know, pretty much everyone on the Internet is a tea junkie, I'm not saying that it's something special, I'm just saying that if they told me I can't drink tea anymore I'd just shoot a bullet in my head because I couldn't live in this planet anymore.

2. Cats scare the living shit out of me. One time I found myself alone in the street with a cat and I started running and crying as if it had been a psycho killer with a butcher knife in his hand. I have a really hard time on tumblr because of this phobia, you know.

3. I'm really clumsy. Not in that cute anime girl way, I mean in a dork way: I trip/step/sit over stuff, I break things, I forget everything like five seconds after I've been told it. I think I'm driving my parents to insanity, and this flaw would probably make me the worst roommate. Remember not to share a house with me, it might be dangerous for your safety.

4. Neon Genesis Evangelion changed my life for good. I can't describe my bound with this work, it's something I couldn't explain even if I tried (and God knows I've tried). Not only it is the most amazing show I've ever seen in my entire life, but I've also grown up with it, so it has rooted so deeply into my mind that when I hear people despising it (which is not the same as criticizing - that would be totally legitimate) I can't help but judging them. I'm (not even) sorry. It's like if someone was insulting the person you love the most in the world just because that person is so complex and complicated and amazing, and they just couldn't understand him/her - because they didn't even give it a try - and for this reason they decided that s/he wasn't worth their time. Wouldn't you hate them for that?

5. I'm one of those people who are good at quite a lot of things, but do not excel in anything. It's like my curse. It's like you scattered your talent, you know? Assuming I have any XD.

I'm supposed to tag 15 people, so here's my list:

Feel free to not do it if you don't want to ^^ I just wanted to let you all know how much I enjoy reading your blogs and how much it inspires me, fashion wise but not only :)

So, uhm, just some days ago I wrote that I wasn't going to buy anything for a while.
Well, I was lying. Of course I was, I mean, you should know me by this time, I can't not buy stuff for more than a week or so.
BUT this time I was good, I spent like €24 and look what I came home with. I love sales, and I love how you can find items from last season that you missed because at the time you didn't check the shop properly, and now they're basically throwing them at you.

Opera gloves!
I already have one pair of these, and from the same store too; but these ones are longer AND they're made of lace and satin, not only satin. I know, that's not even a good excuse... but come on, there's no such thing as too many opera gloves, am I right? Especially when they're selling them for €4 (ok, THAT's a good excuse :D).

This is something that I absolutely needed in my wardrobe: a leather skater skirt. What? Every single girl on lookbook has one!
Of course, fashion arrives in Italy like one or two years later than in the rest of the civilized word, so by now maybe everyone's stopped wearing them (I need to check on lookbook), so that would make me so last season in the fashion bloggers world, but as long as I stay in my country I'm definitely the It Girl.

This is another lucky find.
It was on sale, it was the last one and it was too small for me, but as a coincidence I needed a waist belt to wear together with the skirt.
€4. I love it when this happens.

And this brush came for free, because I still had €13 in my Sephora Gift Card. From now on I officially have to pay for my make-up. That's so sad.
(Luckily enough, I think I won't need to buy any more make-up for, like, the rest of my life).

And, well... I also bought an action figure, but I should dedicate a post just to it and a fashion blog's not the right place for that. Also, it was quite pricey and I've just said I wasn't wasting my money - except figures are never a waste of money, but try and tell that to my mom. -.-

Have a nice week ;*

Liesbter award and Obituary challenge

Howdy!
It's been a while (again), I know; thing is I have my last exam on tuesday and I barely have the time to breathe, let alone blogging T_T
In the meantime, since I don't have any outfit pictures, I'll answer to the questions of Madame Mari Mortem, who tagged me for the Liebster Award, and I'll do my obituary for the Obituary Challenge (thanks to Dani Death Biscuit for the tag).
I'll write my tags at the end, they're for both the award and the challenge :D!

1. If you could live anywhere and be anything, what and where would it be?
... I'm feeling quite the cliche by telling you this, but: I'd like to be a writer and live in Manhattan. I swear this wasn't inspired by Carrie Bradshaw.

2. Have you seen any kind of "wonder of the world" attraction, and if so which? ( ex. Grand Canyon, Northern Lights, Eiffel Tower, Stonehenge...)
Uhm, yes, I've seen the Grand Canyon and the Eiffel Tower. Funny thing is I have the Colosseum five hours away from home but I haven't seen it yet.

3. You're a chef-- what's today's special?
Ugh, I suck at cooking. But I can make you a delicious pasta with tomato sauce! And a lot of parmesan...!

4. In the past month (not "ever"), what was one limited item you wanted SO badly but ended up not buying and deeply regret that decision?

5. You just won a $500 gift card, where is it for and what will you buy there?
A bookshop, of course. I'd exhaust my aNobii wishlist.

6. How do you resolve a conflict? "Make love not war, man" or "Let's find the happy median" or "DEMS FIGHTN WORDS!!!1!"
Oh no, conflicts are just not for me. The time when I wasted time on getting angry with people has *gone*; I just put a distance between me and that person, always maintaining courtesy.

7. You just won backstage passes-- what show/band are they for?
Well, I'd say the Muse right now because some weeks ago I found out that they're coming in my country on november but there weren't any tickets available.

8. Au naturel or Eau de toilette (no perfume or perfume)? If you chose perfume, what is your favorite scent or scent combo?
No perfume :/ I always forget to put it on... also, I don't like smelling scents all around me.

9. When you die will you be buried or cremated? And during your funeral will your casket be open or closed, and why?
Omg. I've never really thought about that. I guess I don't really care, except that I DON'T want a catholic service. I absolutely don't want a priest to speak at my funeral. As regards the rest, they can do whatever they please with my body, as long as they bury me in my black lace frilly clothes.

10. What's your idea of a romantic or awesome day out?
I'm not really the candlelight dinners&walk on the beach kind of person... I don't know, the best thing I could think of right now is: boyfriend, sofa, blanket, hot chocolate and endless episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer :D.

11. If you could learn an ancient fighting style, from which culture would you pick?
I wouldn't know, I'm not into fighting and I don't know any styles :/ but if I had to fight for some reason, I'd totally go for a good old machine gun :D

Aaaand here are my questions:
1. Who's your favourite artist?
2. What genre do you prefer to read?
3. What is your life's primary goal?
4. What do you think is your biggest skill?
5. Can you play a musical instrument? Which one, and how long have you played it?
6. Who were you in high school: the cheerleader, the jock, the nerd, the goth, all of these things together XD...?
7. How is your perfect outfit? Describe it or just post a picture :)
8. Do you think of yourself as of an introvert or an extrovert person?
9. Which is your favourite cake?
10. If you were a fictional character, who would you be?
11. If you could solve one problem in the world, which one would it be?

And then, the Obituary Challenge! Thanks to Dani Deathbiscuit for tagging me :).

The Rules:

  1.  Link back to whoever tagged you.
  2. Put these rules in your tag
  3. Write an obituary about yourself (it can be as funny or as serious as you like)
  4. Write a paragraph or two (or more if necessary) in length.
  5. You may tag up to 10 people, and be sure to link them.
  6. Have fun, because creative writing is one of the greatest joys in life!

My Obituary:

"Shannon Rutherford, age 24, died at one p.m. in her house, while trying to cook french fries for her father and her friend: they tried in vain to rescue her from the blaze that had risen from the pan, but unfortunately it was too late. Her body has been taken to the
Xxxxx Hospital morgue; her mortuary chapel will be open from 10:00 a.m. of thursday, September 6th, until the beginning of the service which is taking place at 11:00 a.m.
She will be buried in her favourite corset, tutu and fishnet stockings, according to her will which she expressed in her very last blog entry. Since she was an exam away from graduation, the rector of the University of Xxx has decided to reward her with a posthumous degree in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation.
She will be remembered for accomplishing absolutely nothing in her life, but having a really good taste in clothing."

Ok: it took me HALF AN HOUR to write this XD.
Btw it actually happened some years ago: the blaze was one and a half meters high, I burnt the whole kitchen and almost got myself killed. Funny thing is that I've never thought about that as of a life-threatening experience; I always tell this at parties.
