1. You've only got one, so live it according to your desires.
2. Please do not waste the short time you have on earth discriminating others. Not only you're wasting your time, but most importantly you're wasting and making harder other people's. Not cool. Don't do it.
3. A friend of mine's grandmother used to say: "The only thing that can't be fixed is your neckbone". Meaning, do not desperate, you're probably going to heal, whatever it is you're struggling with.
4. And this is something a teacher once told my class: "Seek for knowledge, 'cause someone who's more cultivated than you will always be able to fuck you over".
5. And finally, be kind to others, 'cause you never know what's going on in their lives. A teacher I had in middle school once responded to someone who said I talked a lot about myself, "no, that's not true, she never talks about herself. One may talk incessantly while never saying a word about themselves". That's so true. People always assume they know you just because you chat about meaningless or even meaningful stuff, but you can never really know someone and you don't know what they're keeping to themselves.

Liesbter award and Obituary challenge

Howdy!
It's been a while (again), I know; thing is I have my last exam on tuesday and I barely have the time to breathe, let alone blogging T_T
In the meantime, since I don't have any outfit pictures, I'll answer to the questions of Madame Mari Mortem, who tagged me for the Liebster Award, and I'll do my obituary for the Obituary Challenge (thanks to Dani Death Biscuit for the tag).
I'll write my tags at the end, they're for both the award and the challenge :D!

1. If you could live anywhere and be anything, what and where would it be?
... I'm feeling quite the cliche by telling you this, but: I'd like to be a writer and live in Manhattan. I swear this wasn't inspired by Carrie Bradshaw.

2. Have you seen any kind of "wonder of the world" attraction, and if so which? ( ex. Grand Canyon, Northern Lights, Eiffel Tower, Stonehenge...)
Uhm, yes, I've seen the Grand Canyon and the Eiffel Tower. Funny thing is I have the Colosseum five hours away from home but I haven't seen it yet.

3. You're a chef-- what's today's special?
Ugh, I suck at cooking. But I can make you a delicious pasta with tomato sauce! And a lot of parmesan...!

4. In the past month (not "ever"), what was one limited item you wanted SO badly but ended up not buying and deeply regret that decision?

5. You just won a $500 gift card, where is it for and what will you buy there?
A bookshop, of course. I'd exhaust my aNobii wishlist.

6. How do you resolve a conflict? "Make love not war, man" or "Let's find the happy median" or "DEMS FIGHTN WORDS!!!1!"
Oh no, conflicts are just not for me. The time when I wasted time on getting angry with people has *gone*; I just put a distance between me and that person, always maintaining courtesy.

7. You just won backstage passes-- what show/band are they for?
Well, I'd say the Muse right now because some weeks ago I found out that they're coming in my country on november but there weren't any tickets available.

8. Au naturel or Eau de toilette (no perfume or perfume)? If you chose perfume, what is your favorite scent or scent combo?
No perfume :/ I always forget to put it on... also, I don't like smelling scents all around me.

9. When you die will you be buried or cremated? And during your funeral will your casket be open or closed, and why?
Omg. I've never really thought about that. I guess I don't really care, except that I DON'T want a catholic service. I absolutely don't want a priest to speak at my funeral. As regards the rest, they can do whatever they please with my body, as long as they bury me in my black lace frilly clothes.

10. What's your idea of a romantic or awesome day out?
I'm not really the candlelight dinners&walk on the beach kind of person... I don't know, the best thing I could think of right now is: boyfriend, sofa, blanket, hot chocolate and endless episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer :D.

11. If you could learn an ancient fighting style, from which culture would you pick?
I wouldn't know, I'm not into fighting and I don't know any styles :/ but if I had to fight for some reason, I'd totally go for a good old machine gun :D

My Obituary:

"Shannon Rutherford, age 24, died at one p.m. in her house, while trying to cook french fries for her father and her friend: they tried in vain to rescue her from the blaze that had risen from the pan, but unfortunately it was too late. Her body has been taken to the Xxxxx Hospital morgue; her mortuary chapel will be open from 10:00 a.m. of thursday, September 6th, until the beginning of the service which is taking place at 11:00 a.m.

She will be buried in her favourite corset, tutu and fishnet stockings, according to her will which she expressed in her very last blog entry. Since she was an exam away from graduation, the rector of the University of Xxx has decided to reward her with a posthumous degree in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation.

She will be remembered for accomplishing absolutely nothing in her life, but having a really good taste in clothing."

Ok: it took me HALF AN HOUR to write this XD.

Btw it actually happened some years ago: the blaze was one and a half meters high, I burnt the whole kitchen and almost got myself killed. Funny thing is that I've never thought about that as of a life-threatening experience; I always tell this at parties.

1. Sinister.
Funny thing is I only own a skirt by Sinister, but it is so stunningly beautiful that it's enough to put the brand into my top five favourites.

(Lol sorry I am beheaded here, this is an old picture and I couldn't find the one with my head in it XD)

2. Hell Bunny.
Same as above: I only own one item of clothing, but it's more than enough :D plus, every time I take a look on Hell Bunny's catalogue I feel the sudden urge to buy, like, EVERYTHING.

3. Alcatraz
Look at this corseted shirt. Just look at it. Words can't explain how much I've struggled for this thing from the moment I saw it to the moment I decided to spend all that money on it. It's been worth every cent.
(By the way, the shirt I'm wearing in the first picture, matched with the Sinister Skirt, is by Alcatraz too)

4. Baby Angel
This is an italian brand run by stylist Elio Fiorucci. You can find pretty much anything (even some gothy items...!) but in these last years it has started making replicas of lolita brands, and making lolita-like clothing on its own. It isn't expensive and it has some cute things, here are some of them:

5. Poizen Industries
I've bought a lot of stuff from Poizen Industries throughout the years, I'll just show you my most recent purchase :)

And, ok, I'm really hating my camera because you can't see pretty much anything... I guess I damaged it (even more than it was before -.-) some days ago when I dropped it on the floor. Oh, well, I already had to buy a new one, but I hoped I could postpone the expense a little bit longer!




And here's my outfit of the day. This time it's very simple, because I have to go around and look for a job and leave my curriculum, so I have to keep a low profile :D but I think it's nice. That t-shirt is a birthday gift from a high school friend of mine :)

I so like this challenge :D.
I'll start with the outfit, because that's what my blog's all about, afterall :).

I've been thinking about pulling out an outfit like this for a while. "This" is how I dressed back when I was a babybat (I'm talking 2005-2006). It was probably an attempt to look somehow victorian, but I didn't have neither a corset nor a proper skirt. Now I do, but I still like this kind of look. After all, this is a very classic goth style :D


The pair of shoes I'm wearing above (which you can't see because they're hidden under the skirt XD!) is definitely one of my favourites, so it was going to end up in this post anyway. Here they are :)!

They're sweet, of course, and they can be worn with anything and anywhere, really, but God are they uncomfortable. They're ok if you mean to stay sit and still the whole evening, but what's the point if they're going to stay hidden under a table and no one gets to see them...?
(But they're so, so beautiful T_T)

These ones <3. They are just perfect, just how I wanted them. They can go with victorian, with goth, with lolita, and they're so elegant. I just love them.
Only flaw, they're REALLY uncomfortable. Like don't even try to walk with them for more than ten minutes. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain, but these ones once left me a haematoma on the toenail o_o

These pictures are terrible. I know. I promise I'll soon edit the post and take better pictures of them, but right now they're at my boyfriend's together with the ones below, so you'll have to wait a little bit... but it will be worth it because, I mean, look at how wonderfully beautiful they are even in this horrible quality T__T

Unfortunately I had no good pictures featuring this ones. But there's proof that I do own them just on the previous post XD.


And now my favourite accessories! It's scary that I just picked my favourites and I'm still posting a shitload of stuff o_o;;

You have already met some of this gloves/armwarmers (the ones on the left, and the fishnet ones with lace).
I'm sorry you can't really see how the short ones look like, so here is a better picture where you can see them properly and get why I'm so in love with them :)

And these are just my favourites among the gothic ones... omg I need to stop buying necklaces ç_ç

Finally, my favourite bracelets! I have to admit I haven't got many nice bracelets, and even these ones are pretty old and I'm not that fond of them. I just can't find anything that I like or if I do they cost over 50 bucks! T_T


And I guess that's it! Gah, I wanted to post the amazing bag I've just ordered from an english website but it hasn't arrived yet... too bad! But I guess there's enough material to compensate the absence of the bag anyway... XD

Fyeah Finery Fashion Challenge ~ Day 1

Another challenge :D! This time it's Dani Deathbiscuit's "Fyeah Finery Fashion Challenge".


Day 1 ~

Take a picture of you in your most cherished item of clothing (never mind the date!)
Give a little info on it - including where you bought it and why it means something to you (eg. is it sentimental?)

It was quite difficult to choose just one item. I don't have favourites among my clothes, I love them and I've longed for them before buying them the same way.

So I chose a dress that dates back to, uhm, 2008 probably; it's not representative of my current style at all (at the time, I was going through a huge gothabilly phase :D) but it is so beautiful that I still wear it sometimes; it fits in pretty much every context and I like what it does to my figure.
Speaking of which: I reckon this is the first dress I've ever bought. Before this one, I'd always thought that minidresses were for thin girls only. So maybe this is why I chose it, not only because this is one of the oldest clothes I own that I still wear, but because it symbolizes some sort of liberation :D.

In this second picture, while my boyfriend was shooting, we heard the phone ring and I told him to go answer it; this is why I'm in a weird pose :D
I wish I could make victory rolls with my hair, it would be a perfect match for the outfit!
