Draculaura Picture Day + Outfit!

Hi :D!

How are you doing?
I've been doing fine: lately I've bought some new figures I wanted and a new Monster High Doll. It's a Draculaura (what a shocker!), to be precise the Picture Day Draculaura. She's super cute.

Awww! She's lovely. I fell in love with her shoes and her hairdo. One thing I love about Draculaura is that they're basically working with three colours - black, pink and white - and the same perky goth style, and they always come up with original and amazing outfits.

I couldn't take a better picture of these shoes. I don't know about you, but I would wear them instantly.

I love how detailed the accessories are.

And a close-up on her hairdo. She has odangos and the cutest hairband.

I have nine Monster High Dolls right now, and I'm planning on purchasing a new one, Catty noir: just look at it.

I just can't not have it. Black skin and pink hair *__* this might be the most beautiful Monster High ever produced. I just hope it gets to Italy :/

And then there's the outfit <3 which I wore yesterday night to hang out with my friends.

Those leggings were a great purchase, I'm wearing them almost everyday :D. They just go with everything I own. Luckily, yesterday night it was quite cold and I got the chance to wear my beloved New Rocks <3

I also got compliments from a Kiko salesgirl who noticed my ring and went "omg I love you so much for wearing that ring" and asked me where I'd bought it, and I told her I'd bought it at a manga shop, and the other salesgirl turned around and went "did you buy it at *name of the manga shop*? I want it too, I'm so jealous, it's so amazing" and that went on for a while XD (all this while I was paying for my lipgloss, so we kind of blocked the line XD)

Sometimes people stop me to compliment me on some of my accessories, it usually happens with this ring and my Jeffrey Campbell spiked Litas :D I told my boyfriend that THIS is the reason why I freak out every time I go out without the right accessories. How many compliments from strangers am I missing by leaving them at home?!

Does it ever happen to you, to have some strangers complimenting you on your look :)? Isn't it the nicest feeling in the world <3?

 

Meeting with Amélie Nothomb + Outfits + Monster High Dolls + Easter gifts!

Hi!

I should really post more often, so that I don't find myself editing uploading dozens of pictures in one time because I've kept procrastinating for weeks xD.

These have been quite nice weeks: first of all, I met Amélie Nothomb, which is one of my favourite writers; I'd met her in Verona a few years ago and this time she came to my hometown, Venice, so I had no possible excuses for not meeting her.

And I was lucky because the bookshop where the meeting took place was extremely small and we weren't that many people, so we were all very close to her and we had the chance to talk to her, even thought the actual presentation of the book was later in the afternoon, in a theater. I had to go to my boyfriend's niece's birthday, so I was forced to miss the event; this meeting was just for signing copies and reading some pages of the book (and of the tale it took inspiration from) outloud, but, as I said, it was all very informal and I got to talk to her a lot.

I asked her if she had liked Stupeur et tremblement's movie, and she told me that she had, and that they were going to make movies out of her last two books. I also asked her if some of my thoughts on the characters and on the structure of their interaction were correct, and she said that she agreed with me.

Here we are talking together <3 she even complimented me on my french and asked me where I'd learnt to speak it that well. She really is a nice woman.

And she told me my outfit was very elegant and asked my if there are shops that sell this kind of clothing in Venice :D (I had told her I live there)
She's one of us, guys. Last time I saw her she had a gothish attire too. Later an interviewer asked her the reason why she dressed in such a weird way, and she just answered: "Well, there's no actual reason for that. I just think that black is very elegant. Plus it's really just a skirt and a coat, no big deal."
She's DEFINITELY one of us :D.

And this was my outfit <3 you can see Venice on the background. I didn't take pictures because well, I see Venice very often, but maybe some of you have never seen it and might be interested :O I'll take more pictures at the Harajuku Fashion Walk that'll take place in Venice on June.

This is the outfit I'd planned to wear for this meeting, but since I had to walk and these boots are NOT meant for walking, I went for something simpler.

And finally, my new Monster High! I had a 25% discount for this supermarket, so I decided to use it for a new doll :D. This is Frankie Stein Super Sweet Sixteen. Finally I have it!

As you may have noticed, she has a minidress that's supposed to be a gift for Draculaura. So I took one of my Draculauras and changed her outfit :D and I think she looks even better than before!

That dress is perfect with those shoes and this toned down summery style.

And speaking of Monster High... look at what my boyfriend bought me for Easter <3!

He also gave me (<3) a book I wanted to read. It's The Perks of Being A Wallflower; we had seen the film together and he had liked it very much, so I guess he counted on me lending him the book once I'd finished it XD

Latest buys & outfits

Hey there :D!

It's been quite a while, huh?
I apologize: this last month has been quite rough. My dad broke his leg while riding a horse; he was operated on last friday, but he has spent these last weeks on a sofa because he couldn't get up - occasionally we were able to get him to sit on his wheelchair, but he was really uncomfortable in it, so I ended up staying at home almost 24/7 to take care of him.
Also, I've been translating quite a lot of stuff <3 but I'll talk about it next time, maybe. Today's topics MUST be shallow XD!

I'll start with my order from EMP. I ordered a red minidress and a flannel blouse.

But unfortunately the dress came with a hole. What with my dad being in hospital and stuff, I totally forgot about that and couldn't ask for a refund in time. I've already asked my grandma if she can fix it for me and she said yes, so it's not that big of a deal, except that I would've liked to ask them for a smaller size, 'cause, as usual, the M size fits my boobs and my hips, but it's huge on my XS waist. It's becoming a serious issue for my online shopping, you know O_o

And this is the flannel blouse. The quality's quite good, I have no complaints about it. I just wish things looked so oversized on me as they do on skinny bloggers! Gah.

Please pardon the quality of the last picture XD I love my new bedroom but it's a little bit dark, not a good place to take pictures in.



And then there's my order from The Gothic Catwalk <3
Here you can see the slashed leggings. They fit perfectly, but the fabric is quite soft, I thought they could keep me warm but I guess I'll only be able to wear them in spring. Luckily, last saturday the weather was a bit nicer than it has been lately, so I got the chance to wear them and to show you another outfit <3

Quite nu-goth huh? But I don't mind it. And there are two versions of it!
Last saturday I went to the mall and found an awesome studded cap, and a not-so-awesome studded bag - but I needed it to be quite lame because I plan to take it to classes. I can't use my Demonia bag on a daily basis, it gets damaged (it already has). So I needed a bag that was so cheap and ugly that I wouldn't have minded if it got destroyed. Here it is, in all its ugliness.
(Actually it's not even that bad XD)

I'm the kind of person who wears their stuff the moment after they paid for it. I mean, why should I wait? "Here" and "now" are the perfect place and time to put on my new purchases.

I could easily be mistaken for a 13 years old. Last month a woman at the gym thought I was seventeen, and I wasn't even wearing a cap.

And then there's the order from The Gothic Catwalk!
I'll start from the jacket <3
I only have one complaint about this item: the fabric. It's quite cheap and shiny; in the pictures it looked like it was made of a thicker fabric. Which kind of bothers me because I've been planning to wear it with my Mollflander dress by Burleska all along, hoping it could keep me warm enough to wear in in autumn at least, but it can't.

It's actually made of satin; it's still ok, but not exactly what I would've expected. By the way, it has a wonderful design: it's corseted, it has ruffles and lace, it fits me quite good (that's because I took an S size: too small for my boobs and too large on my waist, but since it's open on the front my boobs are not constricted on a too small place).

Aaand this top/blouse. It's cute, but there's still my usual problem with sizes: it's ginormous on my waist. I need to ask my grandma for help here too.

I can't wait to sport this outfit, very Chloe inspired (I mean Chloe from Apartment 23. Never forgotten.)

And I guess that's all! I wanted to show you my new Monster High Doll and my new Bodyline wig too, but I don't want this entry to be too long XD also, I haven't got any pictures of them yet.

I thought some of you might be interested since we share the same taste in clothing :D besides, I'm into many alternative styles, so if you don't exclusively wear goth I think you could still find something you like ;D.

Here are some general infos about the clothes:

Size

I'll give you the size of each item; they're all S, M or S/M by the way. If you're interested in one of my clothes and you need to know its exact measurements, just ask me in the comments and I'll be glad to take them for you.

Just so you know, since I'm the one who's wearing the clothes in the pictures I'm going to post, my measurements are 89-67-89 and I'm 156 cm tall.

I'm selling these clothes because I realized, after buying them, that they weren't for me. Most of them I've worn only once. Some of them are even new. I'll give you more detailed infos for each item :)

1. Black lace tutu

You've already seen this one in this blog: I think I've worn it a couple times, once in London and once at a comic convention.

This is how it fits, although the studs are a bit hidden under the shirt and the corset.

The size is M, but it can actually fit any size from XS to M.

I bought it on emp at €40; I'm selling it at €25 + shipment costs.

2. Black corseted satin tutu

This one was never worn outside my house. I tried in on once or twice for like five minutes, just to see if it could go with my outfit. It's very beautiful, but it seems like I can't match it :(

Here you can't see the corseted part because it's under my tank top.

I bought it at an italian store at €40; I'm selling it at €25 + shipment costs.

The size is M.

3. Spiral longsleeve

This is the one I bought in Camden. I've only worn it once before realizing it just wasn't for me.

The size on the label is S, but it's totally ok for an M size. I have a c cup breast and it could take even more XD

I've worn it once, and luckily enough I was photographed.

As you can see, it's not too stretchy, as all Spiral tops.

4. Victorian pinstripe skirt

I bought this one at a local store. Worn once. It's so pretty but, as usual, I have some trouble matching it.

This is the only picture I have of this skirt; if you are interested in this skirt, I can take a full-figured one.

Please remember that I'm very short XD so if you're taller than me it would probably look more like a mini-skirt (nothing looks like a mini-skirt on me, not even mini-skirts).

5. Black "ripped" skirt

This one I wore more than a couple times, but it's still perfect.

6. Black studded top

Its label says it's an L size; I really don't think so. I'm an S/M size (and when I bought it I was an M; I've never been an L) and it still fits me perfectly.

As you can see, this is definitely not an L size, although it's not that tight-fitting on me. I'd say it's ok for an M size. Feel free to ask me its exact measurements on the comments.

7. Black studded minidress SOLD

I've worn this dress just a couple times: I like it very much, but I can't find the right occasion to wear it.

It's an M size; I'm an S/M and this is how it fits me. I'd say it can work for both sizes.

8. Trypp NYC black tutu minidress

You've already seen this one on my blog. It's one of my favourite dresses, but I recently realized that I have too much tutus in my life: I have to let go of some of them.

The skirt has garters underneath the first layer of veil.

This dress is an M size.

It's by Trypp NYC; I bought it at €80. I'm selling it at €40 + shipment costs.

9. Burleska black brocade overbust corset

It really bothers me that you can't see the brocade on my pictures; that's why I added one from the online catalogue. It's the same corset.

I've only worn it twice, over a blouse, because it's too small for me; I don't have proper pictures of it.

It's a size 24'' and it's from Burleska: if you've already got a corset from Burleska you might know how it fits. It's a size S and I really don't recommend it to a size M, it wouldn't fit.

I bought it at €70 and I wore it just a couple times; I'm selling it at €45 + shipment costs.

10. Sinister long lace skirt

I *love* this skirt, but I never get to wear it - although I paid good money for it at the time. I've worn it like twice or thrice.

It's an M size but I believe it can fit slightly smaller or biggest sizes, for the waist elastic is very stretchy.

11. Black corseted top

<3 This one's very pretty, but I prefer shorter corsets, so I'm selling it.

The label says this about the size: E 44 - D 40 - F 42 - UK 14 - USA 10 - MEX 34 I 46

It's an L size, but I'd say it's an M. It would probably fit an L too, but take a look at the pictures: this is how it looks on me.

12. Black ruffled blouse/jacket with satin bows SOLD

:/ For some reason the picture didn't come out really good.

This one's a lot better :D you can close it with those satin bows and use it as a jacket, or you can wear it under a corset as I've always done.

The label says it's an L size; again, it fits an M very well.

13. Sinister black longuette

The pictures don't show the thickness of this veil. This skirt is very pretty <3

This is an XS size; I've always worn it despite being an S/M size because I used to wear it on the waist.  Well, "always"... I may have worn it a couple times. I don't have pictures of it worn; if you're interested in this skirt, I can take one for you :).

13. Mini-hat hairband

By H&M. Worn once. I'm selling it at €4 + shipment costs.

14. Waistcoat+blouse top

This is just one item; the waistcoat is fake and so are the buttons of the blouse :). It's meant for a corp-goth look ^^

Size is S/36/8, according to the label. Never worn.

15. Black blouse with satin bow

The pictures are a bit dark, but they show the pinstripe pattern :).

I love this blouse, but I have a hard time matching it. That's why I only wore it like, twice.

This is a gothic outfit, but I guess you can use this blouse in a corp-goth outfit too, maybe over a tank top or something.
Size is M/38/10. I'm less than an M size and you can see how it looks on me on the picture above.

16. Red blouse with satin bow

That's right: same model of the black one above.

I swear the colour isn't as bright as in the first picture XD (while in the second one it looks a little bit orangy O.o'')

17. Black tulle dress

This is a really nice dress and I like it a lot, but it's not goth enough for my usual outfits and it's too much goth for an everyday outfit. XD

In this picture I gothed it up a little bit with the boots and the accessories, but it actually can be used on its own, for a fancier look.

It's an M size and it's from Zara; I wore it once.

18. Black suede bow heels

This picture is bigger so that you can see the little scratch on the heel.

These shoes... I love them so much, but I never get to wear them. I've only worn them once. And to think I paid so much money for them T_T

You can't really see it in the pics, but this skirt is tulip shaped. It's a 38 size - I guess it's an S/M.

Its size is L, but when I bought it I was an M size and it fitted me well - of course, it wasn't snug.
