New Outfits and New Purchases

I love outfit posts, they're my favourite to do and to read.
Unfortunately, I almost never manage to take proof of my outfits, since I'm always in a hurry somehow; besides, the only moments when I can take pictures is when I'm at home, so the backgrounds are quite lame XD. But I would feel so stupid posing outside where there's people, so I guess I'll never be able to take cool pics D:

[My jewelry]

I'm not really a fan of that turtleneck, but it was cold ;A; I'm aware that this dress is meant to be worn without your underwear, since it has transparent parts on the back and on the front parts, but I could barely manage to stay away from the radiator with that shirt and a wool bolero on. So.

And then there's an outfit with my new pants :D!
I really needed new black pants, since most of mine were really washed out and I guess my fellow alternative readers know what it's like, to constantly live in the fear that your black pants become grey pants. :'D

[My jewelry].

This was an everyday outfit, of course, but I like what creepers do to outfits that otherwise might have been a bit boring.

And finally, my new bracelet <3

Isn't it lovely?
I don't know what was about this bracelet that made me drool so much over it. I guess it's the autumnal colours. I love autumnal leafy landscapes, and this bracelet reminds me of that kind of stuff. <3
This beauty also got a lot of compliments <3 I think I've worn it every other day since I bought it some weeks ago XD

I hope next week I'll be able to show you guys the new dress I bought on a forum; I'd been longing for it over eBay for like a year, and now I found it secondhand at a very fair price… I know I'm going to love it!
See you next week ;*

Stay Kawaii winged hoodie review, outfit, new Ever After High doll :D

Eventually I managed to find a winged hoodie that was also quite cheap. I think it's lovely, and I really should thank Stay Kawaii for giving me the chance to buy it.

Stay Kawaii is a freshly opened shopping service run by a girl I know, and I strongly recommend it to you all. Laura, the owner, is very good at her job: she has great taste, she's very kind, her service is fast and she's always available whenever you need information or further details on her products.
As for the hoodie, I'm very satisfied with it.
It's a one size fits all, though it actually only fits XS-S-M. I wouldn't recommend it to bigger sizes; I'm an S/M and it's just fine on me. It's quite warm, perfect for middle seasons; I guess those of you who are used to cold might even use it during the winter :). The wings are super cute and they stay in their place even after staying tucked under my coat and my backpack for hours. This hoodie also came at a very fair price.

(right-click and open in new tab for better resolution)

All in all, if you live in Europe and like kawaii stuff, you should really give Stay Kawaii a try :)! I'm sure you're going to be just as satisfied as I was.

And then there's my new doll *_*!
As you surely know by now, I've always been a sucker for Monster High Dolls. They're as beautiful as they are expensive, dammit. Well; when this Ever After High spin off came out, I squeed so loud they probably heard me somewhere in Australia. The first doll to came out was Apple White, aka Snow White's daughter, and she was also the one I wanted the most.
Sadly, it was impossible to find them here. I was almost ready to order one on eBay, WHEN…
… when I moved to Milan and found out that THERE'S A SHOP THAT SELLS THEM.
I was with a friend when I saw them in the window. We run to the last floor where they keep them and looked at them in pure awe. Sadly though, there were no Apple Whites left. (Or better: there were some, but they were from another line, and I wanted the first one.)
So we decided to buy Madeline Hatter. At the moment neither of us had money, but last friday I went to buy a Madeline Hatter for this friend's birthday and… surprise surprise?
THEY HAD RESTOCKED THE FIRST APPLE WHITE!
God bless Milan. Sorry, Milan, for all the nasty things I said about you. Yes, you're cold and grey and messy, but you gave me Apple White. Now I'm finally remembering why I used to love you so much.
(I guess you can't really understand why I'm so glad I could find a doll that's probably in every store in the U.S.. Well, U.S. citizens, let me tell you that you're very, VERY lucky people on so many levels.)

I took a picture of my friend's gift before packing it :D it's really beautiful. I think I'll buy it anyways, sooner or later.

Here she is, but I have to say she's way cuter than this picture shows.

These are beautiful dolls, really. Their quality is the same of Monster High Dolls and their structure is pretty much the same; the only difference is that, while Monster High dolls re-interpretate alternative styles and horror stories, these one are based on fairy-tales and thus feature sweeter outfits and styles.
There are actually a few Ever After High dolls that have darker colours and gothier outfits, like Raven Queen:

But that's because she's supposed to be the villain, and villains are traditionally portrayed in these colours and styles.
I'm so glad I bought one of these dolls. If you're a fan of Monster High Dolls, you'll surely appreciate the beauty of these new ones, their attention for details, the creativity in their styles.
This is going to be my next purchase, by the way: Blondie Locks.

Doesn't she look a bit like Alice from Alice in Wonderland ;)? In any case, she's gorgeous!

See you next week ;D*

Halloween / Lucca Comics & Games outfits + purchases!

Hey <3 I'm back <3!
(I really wasn't gone for long, but since I was away from home and didn't have the time and Internet connection to update my blog, it really feels like I'm back to me XD.)
So!
This time I have pictures of the usual comic convention I go to every year, Lucca Comics & Games. This year I decided to really dress up, and in fact I was taken pictures of along the way, which made me very proud and gave me a considerable ego boost… XD
Unfortunately, I didn't have time to take legit outfit pics. I really didn't, 'cause it took six hours and a half to get there (it usually takes three and a half), when we got there we were super late and had to visit places in a hurry, and when I got to the hotel all I wanted was to take off my clothes (my wig especially) and take a shower.
While the second day it took us more than two hours to drive through 30 kms, which is insane; and our and a half was spent a hundred meters away from the toll booth. There was that much traffic. And when the second day ended we had to head home, so, again, no proper outfit pics.

But! I have some pictures where you can see my outfit. I'm going to show them to you, even though I'm aware that you can't see the first day outfit very well. That's too bad 'cause it was my favourite XD

(right-click and open in new tab for better quality & details :D)

This is the only pic where you can actually see my blouse D: by the way, it was the same I was wearing at the Harajuku Fashion Walk :D
(Oh, and that one on the right is Creamy Mami. Did you watch the anime too when you were children XD?)

Castiel from Supernatural <3 he doesn't really resemble him, but I have to say his face was totally in character.
Also, here you can see I was wearing that pink&black thingy I bought ages ago and never got the chance yo wear XD

And these are Chip 'n' Dale XD I learned to read in italic thanks to them.
Here you can see the mini-hat even better <3 oh, I wish I could wear it more often T__T

And this is all I have for the first outfit. What you can't see is the earring and nail stickers I was wearing, so here they are:

And these are the rings; the first one was part of an Alchemy bracelet that got broken, so I kept the ring and the bracelets separated.

I bought the other two at Lucca Comics & Games.
One features Daenerys Targaryen from the HBO show Game of Thrones (I was looking for something with Cersei on it, but they had run out of Cerseis. On the second day…! Which is good because I've always loved her but couldn't find someone who shared my love for her; now that she's starting to grow on people, they're all buying the merchandise featuring her and they're stealing it from me ;O; and I deserve it more because I've loved her since the very beginning!).
The other one features Oscar and Marie Antoinette from Versailles no Bara. My very first otp.

Please note that I wasn't feeling entirely fulfilled with this ring, so I went looking for figures. I found a too expensive one of Oscar, and then I found some gashapons. I only bought the Marie Antoinette one, but there was Oscar too.

And this is the minihat.

I have more pics of the second outfit - and, more importantly, they were taken in the daylight.
This time, no black hearts on other people, since cosplayers are well aware that their faces are going to end up all over the Internet. So.

This is me in the place I really belong to. With a friend cosplaying Tyrion, and who told me I should cosplay Cersei. I would gladly if I thought I had an ounce of the beauty it would take to do that.

Ok, I only wanted to show you this one because FOR FUCK'S SAKE LOOK AT THAT LOKI. He's fucking identical. It's fucking him!!

Oohh, there! Here you can see my outfit. Right click and open in new tab for better view :).

Aw <3 she's my favourite character from Shingeki no Kyojin (whom I was also asked to cosplay. I don't know why people keep asking me to cosplay beautiful blonde ladies, which I'm not).

Mikasa, my other favourite character from Shingeki no Kyojin, plus a decent view of my outfit.

And Hanji, another character from SnK. In this pic you can see my accessories properly.
As you can see, I was wearing the black cross ring from the day before, my two new rings (which you can't see here XD but when I got to the The Walking Dead stand for the second time, the owner recognized me by my rings XD!) and THIS.
HERMIONE'S TIME TURNER!

Oh, I had been looking for that for ages! Or better: I had been looking for a cheap one for ages, and I found it. That booth sold some really amazing stuff, I should really retrieve their business card 'cause I'm definitely going to buy some more stuff from them.

And then I'm wearing that red wig I bought some time ago. I'm a bit annoyed that you can't see my stockings 'cause they were really cute with their lace and their bows :D but the important thing is that you can see my cutsew, which I bought, I don't know how many years ago, spent tons of money on, and never got to wear because it has a lolita cut and I didn't know it, and I had nothing to match it with XD

Oh, and then there's this lovely choker Audronasha gave me when I purchased that jsk from her :)

And finally, my Halloween outfit.
I really didn't put much effort in it; I had just come back from Milan, after being in university all day and a three-hours travel home. I had to come home early 'cause we were getting up early the following day in order to get to Lucca at a reasonable hour (which we didn't manage to), so we just had pizza with our friends but didn't go out with them later, so there was no point in dressing up.
Actually this is just an everyday outfit… XD

You can't even see the spiderweb pattern on my tights… gah D: well, I hope at least you can see the shredded shirt :D I was going for a kind of witchy look, but I just wanted to hint at Halloween, not to put on a costume, so I guess the ensemble was ok after all.
I'm wearing my Alchemy pendant:

The lovely necklace Madame Mari Mortem handcrafted:

And a few rings, I guess one was the same I was wearing in Lucca.

I didn't even put on a wig, I'm so ashamed D: but I was so busy preparing for Lucca Comics I totally forgot about Halloween T__T

So that's it for today <3 next time I'll show you a few new purchases, and there might even be a review ò_O
Have a nice weekend :*

Outfits + New clothes :D

A few outfits I've worn recently and some stuff I've bought some time ago, but forgot to show you XD.

The first one was created around the a-line skirt I showed you in my last post.

A friend of mine told me I looked good dressed like that :D this pic doesn't really do me or my outfit justice, though.
And by the way I think I should have worn heels; except the only red heels I have were the wrong shade of red. Gah.
I don't even know why I bought those shoes. I remember I was in Milan in one of my favourite shops, and I'd seen those flats in three versions: black, red and white. I'd have liked to buy all three of them but I didn't have enough money, so I chose red because I wear red more often then I wear white; also, I couldn't figure an outfit that would've required white shoes (I couldn't foresee that one day classic lolita would've started to grow on me :D). Long story short, I've worn them maybe three times, because the only thing that goes well with them is that top and I put it on like once a year XD.

On the contrary, this outfit has many things that I wear extremely frequently. Like that tee. I bless the day when I saw it at Zara and decided I could try some rock-chic.

I wear these accessories very often as well. The rosary's definitely the necklace I wear the most, since it's for my everyday outfits; and I usually pair it with Dean's necklace (you know, Dean, from Supernatural?).
And those bracelets are the ones that match my everyday outfits more easily, so I wear them almost everyday.
I've just realized I seldom show you guys my everyday outfits. You might have gotten the totally wrong idea that I go to university or to buy groceries in tutu minidresses XD.

And this is what I was wearing to my cousin's graduation. Not really my usual style, huh? Quite preppy, I'd say. The blouse and the pants are new: my mom bought them for me as a present. I'd seen them in a shop in my town and I guess she was so blasted I was showing interest towards stuff that wasn't studded or lacy or black that she immediately proceeded to get them for me. She also bought me a lovely sweater which I'll show you later.
Well, the chance to wear these clothes came pretty soon - I was also glad I didn't have to think of an outfit anymore, these new clothes were perfect together and perfect for the occasion.
My mom let me use her booties; I don't really like them, but I figured they were the only shoes we had at home that could go with the outfit.
By the way, my boyfriend told me I looked like a professor. I'm not sure whether I should take it as a compliment :'D (he said he meant it in a good way... hmm)

And then there is some stuff I've bought some time ago and forgot to show you XD.

This is the sweater my mother bought for me. It doesn't look very special, I know, but to be fair, nothing could look very pretty while it's on a hanger :°D.

I bet you're all well aware of my obsession with Monster High Dolls. You may not be aware that, when I obsess over something, I start to want clothes with that something on them. So when I saw this tee at the kids department I immediately tried one on.
I always fit in children's clothes, as long as they have sizes from 12 years old on. The only problem's usually with my boobs, but since this tee was meant for 13/14 years olds I guess they took the boobs factor into account (I already had them at that age).
Now I have to spend some time thinking about what could possibly go with it. There are too many bright colours and I literally don't know what to do with them. I guess jeans might go well with this tee but, guys. Jeans. I refuse to be this unfashionable.

XDDD How many of you remember this girl?
I most certainly do! I used to have so much fun watching this cartoon. Last summer OVS (an italian brand I like a lot) made a line of t-shirts with characters from cartoons, including Little Pollon. In the store I usually go to they only had Eros, which wasn't quite the same to me, so I waited to check in another OVS store, and I found one featuring Pollon. It was even on sale, so I spent like, €7?
I had to buy an XS because it was the only one left with Pollon on it, but it fitted my waist and it didn't squeeze my boobs; it was only a little bit tight on the shoulders.
The line under her name says "troublemaker" :P (that was the literal italian translation of the cartoon's title).

Have a nice weekend you all ;D*!

Outfit + Punk/goth in "Orphan Black"

Today's entry's going to be unusual.
Firs of all, because my outfit of the day is quite unusual for me :D since as you know I'm totally devoted to black and I rarely put on colourful stuff.
But once in a while my love for pastel and frilly things pops up - usually in the springtime - and I might be spotted wearing clothes people would never expect me to put on.
Like this dress.

... I love this one <3! I adore pink&white and, most of all, floral patterns.
It was actually a present from my mom; we'd gone to a children clothing store to buy my cousin a present for his ninth birthday, when I noticed this beauty.
It was a 16 years old size. And I thought, oh well, my Disney pajamas are for 10-12 years olds, there's no way I can't squeeze into that.
And I was right. Tsk. Thanks to my height, I can ALWAYS get into children clothes: I did it with H&M, Disney, Benetton and now I've done it with this dress.
Too bad I didn't have any shoes to match it with, so I borrowed these booties from my mum but I don't really like the altogether :/ I should buy white low-heels pumps with bows or something like that: those would be the perfect match for that dress.
You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find cute shoes with bows or lace or ribbons that aren't lolita. I hate squared heels (or better, I think I'd look to childish in them) so lolita shoes aren't really my thing, but stilettos aren't what I'm looking for, either. Sadly, this is all I seem to be able to find.

The second part of this post concerns a show I've been watching lately, Orphan Black.
Just to be absolutely clear: I *loved* that show. It's one of the most compelling stories I've ever watched, I really, really recommend it to you all. Trust me, you'll thank me.
That said; for once, I'd like to share some thoughts with you, regarding the representation of subcultures in media. That is not something I usually do, but after seeing the same shit time, after time, after time, I tend to get tired :D so let me rant a little bit about one of the tiny flaws of this show.
So, this is Sarah, the protagonist, as she first appears.

And my first thought was "she's a goth". I mean: she's wearing a total black outfit, black make-up, ripped tights and combats. What does she look like to you?
And this is the edgiest we ever see her.
Later we see her in black booties, a leather jacket maybe, or a leopard tee but that's about as far as she goes with her outfits.

But she claims to be a "punk". Even her foster mother once reminds her of when she introduced Sarah to punk rock; but she doesn't seem like a punk at all to me.
Except maybe when she puts on a Clash tee (... could they be more obvious? I mean, the Clash? Everyone loves the Clash, couldn't they to the effort to make her less mainstream...?), and her "husband" states she's dressed like "a punk rock ho".

[This is all it takes to be labeled as a "ho" in this show]

A "ho". Side note: wow.

But what bothers me the most is that, while she takes on the identity of another woman, who's rich and classy an can afford nice clothes and a beautiful home, the show seems to suggest the idea that she was dressing as a "punk-rock ho" because she didn't have the money to buy better clothes.
I mean...
That's prejudice, guys. That's not even bothering to check if dressing like a punk-goth ho is really something you could do by shopping in thrift stores only. Because I for one find dressing goth VERY expensive. You literally spend hundreds of euros in boots, let alone a whole outfit.
And of course she's a drug dealer, she has troubles with herself and she's a teen mom, 'cause you know, us alternatives, we're like that because we're troubled kids. Criminals, punks, or people who have been hurt and react with goth and punk, as if it was a protest of some kind and not, you know, just what you choose to wear, to the point that you end up spending a shit ton of money on it - and thats's because you like it, not because you couldn't afford "better" (which to us may not be "better" at all).
I find this trend rather condescending to us alternatives. Along with that "it's just a phase" rhetoric, you know, when the goth character's the one who's trying to find themselves after they've been hurt or something, but then when they find peace they go back to "normal clothing" and to being acceptable members of society. Like, just ew.

That's not a problem of this show in particular, I've detected in many media and I guess I thought with time people were getting used to the idea that alternative doesn't equal troubled or troubling (or both). But nope.
I'm the only one who's starting to find this offensive rather than just annoying? I mean, come on. And I won't even mention how the token Gay Guy in the show was portrayed, 'cause that would take a way longer entry and in this blog I only want to talk about clothes and the subculture.

What do you think? Have you noticed this kind of treatment in media? Does it bother you? It'd be great if you brought up some examples :D I'd be glad to discuss it with you guys ;)!
