Day 6 ~
What do you consider to be classy clothing? Do you own said clothing?
Also, what fashion 'rules' do you dislike - such as clashing colours: (insert colour here) doesn't go with (insert colour here) or Goth fashion and invisible rules (do -this- and -this- and you're a Mallgoth, etc)?
To me classy clothing is pretty much everything you can relate to period goth. Corsets, veil hats, long gowns, gloves, cammeos, elaborate jewelry, heels, and, aside from period, LACE *_*.
Do I own these things? Yes, some of them. Thing is, I never get to wear them; as I said in some comments, I do not really have the chance to. There aren't goth clubs or events in my area, so I'd end up wearing super elegant outfits just to go to the pub... and I most certainly can't dance in a steel boned corset.
But I definitely own a lot of black lace, and, as you can see, I wear it quite a lot of times. You have no idea how much black lace is there in my wardrobe... but you will if you keep following me :D
That said, I like experimenting, and that's because I don't have a label in which I feel I must fit. So, I don't mind wearing a kilt even if "that's punk", I don't mind wearing Converse sneakers because "that's not goth enough" (try and walk in a sunny afternoon with 40°C outside in combats, then let me know), and I do not certainly mind wearing an all-pink outfit from time to time because I don't have to prove that I'm a goth from head to toe.
I think this last one thing is the one that bothers me the most: I'm not wearing black every single day of my life, so what? Should I apologize if caught red-handed with a pink dress? Come on °__°! I'd get bored if I had to stay struck on a single style and never get to change a little bit, just to take a breath. I'm not one of those people who wouldn't be able to wear white pants or a yellow t-shirt to save their lives; sometimes I've wished I was, because I just couldn't choose between the many alternative styles and I couldn't get myself a label and it was a mess, but then I realized that I didn't have to give an answer to people who asked me "so, uhm, what exactly are you? Are you a goth, or...?"
You know what? Right today I'm wearing a super-colourful dress, and I'm wearing it with Converse shoes. I'll share it with you :)
It's so annoying when people get shocked seeing me in a colourful dress... it's almost like they have decided my "role" - I am the one who dresses in black - and I can't be something other than the goth one or whatever they've decided I am.
My pink side is strong! As much as the black one XD even if people can't conceive that I may like such different looks at the same time. Every time I switch they seem to think I've completely changed and quit the other look, lol. It seems a very close-minded kind of thinking :(
Ok, enough ranting! Let's all enjoy the pinkness and lacyness of my dress XD! I hope you'll like it even if it's very different from my usual outfits ^^
